About this event

Family & Education • Parenting

Every child in Wales deserves the best start in life. To be healthy, happy and have the care and attention they need to develop and grow.

This October, we’re bringing people together for an important learning event to explore the role of high quality, inclusive and family focussed services in supporting babies, young children and their families have the best start in life.

Event Overview:

Venue: Public Health Wales, 2 Capital Quarter, Tyndall Street, Cardiff, CF10 4BZ

Date: 3 October 2025

Time: 09:30 for a 10:00 start, close at 16:00

A light lunch and refreshments will be provided.

Spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Registration closes on 19 September 2025

The event is hosted by Public Health Wales’ First 1000 Days Programme.

The event is relevant to all those working in or influencing early years services in Wales, including policymakers, practitioners and partners across health, social care, education and the third sector. It will feature insights and learning from leading organisations across the UK, alongside examples of good practice from Wales. Participants will have opportunity to engage in discussion and networking, and to consider how the learning shared can support system-wide action on the recently published resource Best Start in Life: An Early Years Framework for Action, at local, regional and national levels.

The event will feature:

  • UK-wide expertise on early years services and innovation
  • Examples of good practice from Wales
  • Table-top discussions designed to support shared learning and peer exchange
