Course Detail

The 2014 National Curriculum has been implemented well in most schools.

However, the focus is very much on the impact of the curriculum on your children and the big questions are:

  • How well does the curriculum meet the needs of the children in your context?

  • Are you still meeting statutory requirements?

  • Do subject leaders know how well their subjects are taught and how well the children are doing?

  • How deep is learning?

  • What needs to change?

This one day course will focus on conducting a review of the curriculum in preparation for discussion with external authorities such as Ofsted.

Course Aims

With Ofsted’s re-focus on the curriculum, it is time to ask, ‘Is the curriculum the best it can be?’

By the end of the day you will have considered:

  • an evaluation of your existing curriculum - is it rich and deep, is it unique and does it meet the needs of our children?

  • preparation for discussion with Ofsted about the intent, implementation and impact of your curriculum

  • review of early years against Ofsted’s ‘Bold Beginnings’ document

  • practical ideas around the teaching of a rich and deep curriculum

  • a chance to plan your next steps for action in relation to the curriculum and assessment of all subjects.
