About this event

Leeds City Council are working with partners across the Health and Social Care sector in Leeds to bring you a joint jobs fair.

Hundreds of jobs in health and social care will be available at our FREE fair at The Events Space, Kirkgate Market, Leeds on Tuesday 19th October 2021.

Around 30 organisations including Leeds City Council's Adults and Children's Services, NHS partners and social care providers from the private, independent sector will be recruiting to city wide vacancies at The Big Leeds Health and Social Care Jobs Fair with a range of opportunities including:

Leeds health and care I Care… ambassadors will be on hand during the day to talk about their varied roles in health and care. There will also be support available for people keen to apply for roles through Leeds City Council’s Leeds Employment Hub and Leeds City College.

These roles are open to people aged 18 or over and we are encouraging applications from across the city. Some of the roles don't require previous experience. Register now to keep updated with possible health and social care vacancies.

Workforce People Development Strategy Privacy Notice

1. Leeds City Council takes its obligations under the Data Protection legislation (the General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018) very seriously. The information we collect from you is required to enable the Organisational Development Team to monitor the effectiveness of our work programmes and track outcomes for individuals that are supported through these programmes. Leeds City Council’s Organisational and Workforce Development Team supporting Adults and Health are working to help deliver the Workforce People Development Strategy. One area of the strategy is aimed at attraction, recruitment, retention and development of people into work within Adults Health and Social Care sector. This work is aimed at people aged 16 and over, living across Leeds who are looking to enter or are working within the health and social care workforce, however this notification does cover the work of the overall strategy.

2. The information we collect from you will be used to support the delivery of our Workforce People Development Strategy, in particular the recruitment, retention and career development work stream; to assess participant’s current working situation and to provide targeted specialist support based on your individual working needs and circumstances. Joining any of the programmes being delivered under our Workforce People Development Strategy will not affect your services or other treatments you may receive from the council. The types of information that we collect, process, hold and share include:

• Personal information (such as name, address, employment status, national insurance number).

• Special categories of data including characteristics information such as gender, age, ethnic group, disability.

• Personal information regarding references and your ability to work under the ‘Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006’.

• Attendance, activities and your development while you are engaged on the programme.

• Disclosure and Barring Service related information.

3. Where appropriate and in order to best support you and your future recruitment, training and career development needs we may need to share your information with other services in the Council and also with other relevant partner organisations such Leeds Educational Partners (Colleges / Universities), Prospective work placement employers and Leeds City Council partner agencies (funders/partners who support the programme).The council may also be required to share your information without your consent, or where we are required to, by law. Should you object to Leeds City Council using your information in this way, you may be unable to receive an allocation on the apprenticeship programme and would therefore miss out on a place you are eligible and entitled to.

4. We will not hold your information for longer than necessary and in line with data protection legislation. Your application will be stored in and accessed only by members of the Organisational and Workforce Development team. The personal data you provide on this form will be held by the council for 6 years from financial year end.

5. You can withdraw your agreement to participate in this programme at any point. Should you choose to withdraw your agreement, we will remove you from the programme and no further support in respect of this programme will be provided. Also, you have rights in respect of the information we hold about you, including the right to ask for access to your information.
