Event description

Description

Thursday 3rd to Monday 7th October 2019

“The best poetry festival around.” Daljit Nagra

Our 2019 festival presents an exciting line up of poetry readings and events to bring us together and inspire us! This year our resident poet will be Nuar Alsadir, and Zoe Brigley will judge the Battered Moons competition and read from her own work. Our headline poets include Fiona Benson, Roy McFarlane, Jennifer Militello, Julia Copus, Richard Scott, Julia Webb and Elisabeth Bletsoe.

Carrie Etter returns with editors Claire Crowther of Long Poem Magazine and Sarah Leavesley of V.Press to answer all your publishing questions, and Helen Dewbery will discuss poetry film with Dave Bonta, from Moving Poems and Lucy English from Liberated Words.

There will be regular open mics, late night toast, and fireside gatherings.

Rooms are available at The Holiday Inn (across the road from the festival site) as a block of 3 or 4 nights. These need to be booked via the festival. For one or two nights only please contact the Holiday Inn direct: HERE
