Join us for a free community event at Craig Gwladus Country Park. Get out into nature and try your hand at something new by joining one of our specialist-led worshops. Or just call in for a chat and enjoy some refreshments. We can't wait to see you there!

All our workshops are free thanks to funding from The National Lottery Heritage Fund.

Due to limited spaces, some of the activities on offer require booking ahead of time:-

Willow Weaving

Try your hand at weaving small decorations including stars and snails in these 2-hour long workshops. Beginners welcome!

Samba Music Workshops

Samba is the spirit of Brazilian carnival and involves a number of instruments - drums, tambourins, agogo bells, and shakers. Beginners welcome!

Guided Fungi Walks

Professional mycologist, Emma Williams, will be leading a morning and afternoon guided walk to reveal the wonderful array of fungi to be found in Craig Gwladus. The walk will be approximately 1km and on varied terrain.

History and Archaeology walk and talk

Archaeologists Paul and Jenny or Trysor Archaeology will be leading a guided walk along the Drift Mine Trail, a flat and surfaced trail of about 1km, to shine a light on the mining heritage of the park and show some of the finds from our recent excavations of the Engine House and Smithy.

Frequently asked questions

Where should I park?

Craig Gwladus has three car parks to choose from - lower, middle, and top. These are signposted as you enter the park.

Is the event accessible?

Yes, the event is wheelchair accessible and suitable for those will mobility issues. We will have disabled parking available and the site has a disabled toilet that guests can access.
