The Binks Trust Renewable Energy event will explore New and Emerging PV and provide an opportunity to network and share recent advances.

About this event

This event will be a mixture of invited talks from experts in the field (23 June), and an opportunity for postdoctoral researchers and PhD students to present their research in a very interactive and friendly environment (23 & 24 June). There will be 7 min talks (+ 3 min Q&A) for post docs and 3 min "speed talks" for PhD students as well as posters.

We will also host a careers panel on 24 June with advice from experts on how researchers and students can progress their careers in either an academic, industrial or other scientific direction.

After such a long time with little opportunity for in-person engagement, we are very much looking forward to welcoming you to Oxford, and partaking in fruitful and inspiring discussions.

This mini-conference is free of charge and has been graciously supported by the Binks Trust and Supersolar.

Invited speakers on 23 June include:

  • Mohammed Azzouzi, Imperial College
  • Petra Cameron, University of Bath
  • Jenny Clark, University of Sheffield
  • Marina Freitag, University of Newcastle
  • Katie Shanks, University of Exeter
  • Sam Stranks, University of Cambridge
  • Wei Zhang, University of Surrey

Covid-19 information

As this is the first in-person event we, as a group, have organised since 2019, we want to be extra vigilant with regard to Covid testing.

Therefore, please can all delegates ensure that they take a LFD test in the 24 hours before arrival and report the result on the NHS website https://www.gov.uk/report-covid19-result

We may ask for proof of your negative test on arrival. Thank you for your understanding and help to make the event as safe as possible for everyone.
