Event Details

Meet Yomi Adegoke, journalist and senior writer of The Pool, and writer and brand marketer Elizabeth Uviebinené. They describe their groundbreaking new book, Slay in Your Lane, as a ‘black girl bible’, a guide to life for a generation of British black women.

Covering everything from education to work, dating to health, and money to representation, Slay in Your Lane combines the experiences of Adegoke and Uviebinené with interviews with dozens of Britain’s most successful black women, including musician Jamelia, children’s author Malorie Blackman and BBC Radio 1 DJ Clara Amfo.

Adegoke and Uviebinené will join Afua Hirsch, author of Brit(ish), Labour MP Dawn Butler and Anne-Marie Imafidon, founder of Stemettes, to celebrate the strides many inspirational women have already made and to discuss the unique challenges faced by black women in Britain today. Further speakers to be announced.

Running time: 90 minutes, no interval.
