*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~~*~*~*~*~*~

We know you’ve all heard of Exeter’s new venue - The Boat Shed… and were hoping you've heard of Exeter’s newest event promoter - R.O. But just in case you haven't heard of either, here's the spiel:

The Boat Shed is a newly renovated warehouse on the Quayside, currently used for pop up arts and theatre. On August 19th The Boat Shed opens it’s doors as a new nighttime events venue. R.O have been handed the keys and will be holding the FIRST EVER Boat Shed Party... because why not, we love a good boogie! From 6pm on the dot, our talented resident DJs will be laying down those summer loving vibes we all love… and our in-house photographers plan to capture it all on camera. Something for Facebook memories eh!

R.O aren't just about the music, the drinks and the dancing… We have a few commitments to fulfill. To make sure we are completely transparent about it from the start, here’s the deal:

100% goes to Mental Health awareness!

Something we are proud to tell everyone about is our commitment to sending every penny to charity. Dan, Founder & Chief Visionary of R.O, is a trustee of the Charity - ‘Changing Horizons’ (Registered Charity #1146667). Changing Horizons inspires young people to realise their full potential through challenge, adventure and discovery. Facilitating overseas expeditions and courses in the UK allows us to do exactly that. Something we have noticed and I’m sure you have too, is that Ill Mental Health is a fast growing issue within young people. That's where our sister charity comes in - ‘It’s Okay’. We want to be able to use the outdoors to target those with ill Mental Health and tell them it’s okay to not feel 100% and its okay to tell someone about it! Although we have everything we need in place for It’s Okay to function, we still need to raise £5K to register it with the charity commision! Everyone here at R.O are committed to putting literally every rupee, dollar, shilling, penny or peso we get from you into our 5K pot! Yes, that’s 100% of your money going to Charity… pretty good eh!

How this is made possible:

We can’t quite shout about who or what yet, but we have a sponsor! The amazing, beautiful people involved with the Sponsor are willing to cover all our overheads to allow us to put all our profits into Charity - Bloody legends! Please, please, please keep an eye out for the name drop… We need to give these guys some serious kudos!

Keepin’ it local:

We understand and appreciate the amazingly talented people that surround us everyday and we plan to showcase the sh*t out of them. We will and always will run our events using locally sourced DJs, print houses, photographers, musicians, tshirts, socks, you name it. If you’re local and want in, get in touch with Dan at R.O.

That'll do:

To keep it simple, that's all for now. Even if you’ve only skim read this, you’ll know there’s plenty for us to shout about. So keep those eyes peeled kids!

Bring everyone you love, leave all the tools at home...

See you on the dancefloor!

R.O x
