The Books That Built Me with India Knight
The Books That Built Me is an elegant literary salon, a desert island discs for authors, or as Sarah Churchwell, author of Careless People, wrote, it's 'how the books you love meet the books you write'.
The next salon is with India Knight, Sunday Times Columnist and author of many books, including a hilarious roman a clef, 'My Life on a Plate', and her latest book, 'In Your Prime'. Part memoir, part manual, In Your Prime seeks to provide proper, weighty answers to the questions women are asking themselves now.
India's literary heroines include Nancy Mitford, Dodie Smith, Elizabeth Jane Howard, and Edith Wharton. She also loves the Lord Peter Wimsey books, Rebecca, Cold Comfort Farm and Forever Amber, so I'm incredibly excited to hear who she will choose for The Books That Built Me.
Tickets are either £30, to include a subscription to Harper's Bazaar, a copy of In Your Prime, a pre-event drinks reception with Nyetimber Special Cuvée, and a Bazaar goodybag with a gift from Prestat chocolate; or £20, to include India's book, Nyetimber Special Cuvée and the Bazaar goodybag
