Event description
The Brexit Effect. A discussion on what to expect when the UK leaves the European Union.

About this Event

There’s a lot happening in our political sphere this autumn. Between Brexit, Boris and an impending general election, WE have a responsibility to uphold – to our members, our communities and to women across the UK.

WE believe knowledge is power and want to help you understand how leaving may impact your life and those of the women around you. That’s why WEP York will be holding this special event, which will feature discussions from experts and campaigners on Brexit related issues that are expected to impact women’s lives when the UK leaves the European Union.

WE are excited to announce that confirmed speakers include:

- Joeli Brearley, Pregnancy/Maternity Discrimination Activist and Campaigner Behind Pregnant Then Screwed

- Dr. Sally Brooks, Activist and Social Researcher at the University of York

- Helen Shay, Solicitor, Founding WEP Member and former Local Elections Candidate

- Helen Hinds, Rep for the Emergency Planning Society

- Carmel Offord, Campaigner at Independent Domestic Abuse Services (IDAS)

We hope you'll join us for this anticipated event. Tickets are limited, so don't wait to reserve yours today.
