Event description

Description

A day-long event to demystify finance and empower women, providing tools, information and inspiration for success in all money matters.

When it comes to finance, there are many gender gaps to bridge, from inequalities in wealth and investment to income itself. In Germany, for example, women are paid on average 21% less than men. Women also have less saving power, yet live around five years longer than men. That's one of the reasons why the majority of EU countries have high numbers of women living in pension poverty.

Featuring high-profile keynote speakers from across the finance sector and beyond, The Bridge: Women & Finance Summit focuses on making the world of finance compelling and accessible to all. Our goal is to encourage women to see money not as a source of stress and worry, but as one of freedom and empowerment.

FidAR is one of the central contacts in politics and the media on the issue of more women on boards, and has contributed to a significant number of activities and ongoing political lobbying in the last few years. One of FidAR’s biggest achievements is the quota law, which came into effect in Germany in May 2015.
