Description

Monthly Saturday Special: 3pm- 6pm (click blue button for dates)

Starting point: Central Brighton

Join the wine revolution!

Come meet the rebel sommeliers of Brighton on our unique 3-hour walking wine tour of the city's best independent hotspots.

The Brighton Wine Tour is a fun, surprising and educational guided exploration of the many wonderful ways in which glorious wine features in Brighton’s ever-expanding indie food & drink scene.

Whether you’re a total wine novice, an enthusiastic amateur, a wine snob or fancy yourself as a bit of an expert, discover new insight on all things Brighton vino from our local wizard wine sommeliers, Xavi and Radka from The Food Stuff.

Over the course of 6 varied wine stops we’ll excite and delight you with a marvellous medley of wine surprises, stories and samples. You’ll find out what to look for in different types of wine, how to taste wine and where to get a good quality product without being ripped off, be it in the bars, restaurants or local independent shops of Brighton & Hove.

And of course, it wouldn’t be a Brighton Food Tours event without an extra helping of wine politics, insightful food & drink stories and some tempting food tasters thrown in too!

Important things to note before booking:

  • This is an educational-yet-fun tour, not just a p***up!
  • All drinks are sample-sized.
  • Group sizes are limited to a max. of 8 people (although we can cater for larger groups in private parties)
  • Last but definitely not least - we certainly expect you to drink, not spit!

Altogether now: "Wine for the people!”

FAQs

How much is The Brighton Wine Tour?

£65 per person (sorry – no discounts for students, seniors or Brighton residents)

How long is the tour?

Roughly 3 hours but it may run over if our punters are having too much fun!

What is included in the tour cost?

All drink samples and any food tasters. Plus the undivided attention of your own BFT/sommelier guides.

How many people are on the tour?

We’re not into big impersonal groups – plus it would be tricky for our lovely vendors to accommodate them – so we prefer an intimate gathering of no more than 8 punters

How many stops are on the tour and and how much food & drink will there be?

We visit 6 different hotspots with sample-sized drinks, plus a few foodie tasters along the way.

Do you cater for particular dietary requirements or food allergies/intolerances?

Please let us know of any particular requirements when booking. Our vendors will let us know if there are nuts in their products but we can’t guarantee that foods will not have come into contact with allergens so please do exercise your judgement accordingly.

Do you offer a range of different tours?

Yes! We regularly run our signature, tried-and-tested V.I.B (Very Independent Brighton) Tour that has proved to be extremely popular with both residents and visitors to Brighton. We also have a Drink Brighton Tour which runs monthly, and more coming soon (Vegan, Beer & Food, the list goes on...). Keep an eye on our Tours page for up-to-date info on all tours we're currently running or sign up to our mailing list to hear first about new food & drinks tours, offers & occasional Brighton foodie news…

If you’re looking for a private and/or tailored tour, please get in touch and we’ll see what we can do.

What do you do in case of bad weather?

Our tours go ahead come rain or shine so be sure to come prepared for all weather eventualities. Umbrellas are pretty redundant in Brighton (it can get rather gusty!) so if it’s wet we recommend waterproof coats with hoods etc.
On very rare occasions we may decide to cancel due to extreme weather conditions.

How far do you walk on the tour?

It’s a total of approx 3 miles – broken up into 6 stops – at a leisurely pace.

Is there anywhere to sit?

A few of our stops have seating, but you’re not guaranteed a seat. You can expect to be standing or walking for the whole tour.

Are there opportunities for toilet stops?

Most of the places we visit do not have toilets so be prepared to cross your legs if you don’t go before we meet.

Are the tours appropriate for kids?

Definitely not! It's a wine tour... say no more

Do we need to bring anything?

Just bring yourself, in a pair of comfortable shoes. You may also like to bring a bottle of water with you, a bag for any purchases along the way and your smartphone for any en-route photo action and social media sharing. (P.S Don’t forget to tag us – @BTNFoodTours)

Are the tours accessible for wheelchair users?

Let us know your requirements when making your booking enquiry and we’ll do our best to ensure the tour is suitable.
