Event description
The Sunrise Foundation invites you to a spring celebration mixing fabulous dining and ideas to raise funds for three local charities.

About this Event

Since April 2017, the foundation has funded work for three Bristol charities and this event is to celebrate their vital services in mental health, homelessness and disability. We would love to invite you along to Bristol Zoo on Friday 17th May to celebrate with us.

On arrival, you will be welcomed with a complimentary drink whilst enjoying the sounds of local musician, Sam Eason. You are welcome to have a stroll around the zoo gardens where you have exclusive access. We will then take you upstairs into the beautiful Clifton Pavilion to begin your evening, starting with a fun West Country themed quiz hosted by ‘Martin Mucklowe’ (from Bafta award winning BBC comedy ‘This Country’) and local artist Jenny Urquhart. After finishing a delicious three course dinner, the auction begins; with some fabulous prizes up for grabs.

When the auction draws to a close, we will make our way back downstairs to dance the night away to local band Sisters of Swing, guaranteed to get you into the swing of things!

There will also be a silent auction, with opportunities to bid on some great prizes throughout the night.

All money raised from this event will be split between the three local charities, so you know that whilst enjoying the evening, your money will help some of Bristol’s most vulnerable communities.

KIDS

KIDS leads the way in providing disabled children, young people and their families with support to thrive, not just survive. KIDS ensure disabled young people from birth to 25 have the opportunity to learn, play, build friendships, gain confidence and improve their wellbeing and we provide vital respite, emotional and practical support to parents and siblings.

Changes Bristol

Changes Bristol is a mental health charity providing Peer Support Groups for people suffering mental distress in the Bristol area. Our free, open access support groups give people suffering from mental health issues a place to talk and to take steps toward improving their lives and their well-being. Changes Bristol has been running mental health peer support meetings for adults in Bristol since 2004, with the charity’s expertise helping more and more people each year.

Caring in Bristol

We’re Caring in Bristol. We find gaps in Bristol’s provision for people experiencing homelessness and work together with our community to create innovative projects to fill them. From prevention to emergency support, our projects range from producing free citywide resources that empower our city to act, to investing in youth support, helping influence change from the very start. Homelessness is not a simple issue with a simple solution. At Caring in Bristol, we believe in community solutions to community problems. Let’s support people in Bristol out of homelessness together.

Sunrise Foundation

The Sunrise Foundation started it’s journey in Clifton in 2017 , when funds were invested with the objective of giving grants to support other charities, wherever they operate, who work with disadvantaged individuals. The disadvantages faced may be by way of many factors including disability, abuse, neglect, poverty, illness, addiction, homelessness or social exclusion so we are very happy to be working with three Bristol charities to make this event happen and increase awareness of what they are all achieving in very different ways in our local community.
