"Having lived in Watford for 20 years and with over 35 years experience as a professional photographer I often found myself undertaking projects within my local area.

Taken over the course of 11 years, shows the diversity of shops and those that frequent and live here, this project aimed to show something of the flavour of the street which was once Watfords main shopping area now overshadowed some what by the Harlequin Centre.

Initially inspired by the photographs of Victorian shopkeepers posing in front of their shops showing their wares, this project posed some technical and creative challenges however now finished I hope it captures a period of time in a different way in the lives of those that appear in it and that still shop here."
