Event description

Description

This talk is given by Paula Nuttall. Bruges was the richest and most vibrant city in northern Europe. It attracted an international merchant clientele and the Burgundian rulers of the Netherlands with their magnificent court. Painters such as Jan van Eyck and Hans Memling whose masterpieces, interwoven with sculptures, illuminated manuscripts, and the buildings of Bruges itself, will conjure up life in this medieval metropolis.

Coffee at 10am, lecture 10.30 - noon, followed by a complimentary glass of wine or juice
