Event description

Description

Returning for its second year, this day-long conference is being run by The Publishers Association and The London Book Fair in November. Attendees will be encouraged to consider how they interact with every point of the publishing ecosystem to ensure equal representation in our industry, from authors right through to the consumer. The day will challenge ideas about who our audience is, and how we speak to them, asking attendees what they can be doing better by providing positive examples and personal experiences.

The day will be chaired by BBC’s arts correspondent Razia Iqbal and themes explored will include BAME progression and the commercial imperative; Equality in Acquisitions; Women in the Boardroom; Accessible books and publishing.

“Building Inclusivity in Publishing” is open to all working in the book industry, particularly those with managerial or hiring responsibility, a passion for equality, who are in marketing, and those with the urge to make change a reality; such as booksellers, agents, authors, literary festival and event organisers, and publishers –those who commission, who hire, and who have a passion for improving diversity.
