Description

Come and learn the answers to the burning questions, always asked, about suicide prevention.

  • Suicide threats - real or fake?
  • Is suicide the ultimate form of self-harm?
  • Spot the signs - what if there are none?
  • I never would have thought it of them! Then who? Once they have made their mind up, there's nothing you can do. Right?

You are invited to join some of the UK's' leading campaigners and practitioners, to launch the UK's National Qualification in Suicide Prevention, SFA: Suicide First Aid.

Jonny and Neil produced the film for the National Qualifcation, now they are sharing their experience of using and qualifying in SFA: Suicide First Aid, other speakers now confirmed and including

  • Sarah Hughes, CEO, Centre for Mental Health, Symposium Chair
  • Caroline Hounsell, Director of Partnerships, Product Development and Training, MHFA (England)
  • Jonny Benjamin MBE and Neil Laybourn, “The Stranger on the Bridge” Channel 4, Finding Mike ‘Rethink Mental Illness”, ‘Heads Together” - personal intervention, recovery and campaigning for positive mental wellbeing
  • Karen Smith, Head of Wellbeing, UCL, MHFA Higher Education and SFA: Suicide First Aid
  • Rusty Livock, Founding Director, Connect Assist, imbedding Mental Health & Suicide Prevention in the workplace

If your interested in suicide prevention, this is a not-to-be-missed opportunity to learn, share and connect with some of the UK's leading developers of mental health and suicide prevention 'working together' programmes, and celebrate the launch ot the UK's qualification, SFA: Suicide First Aid.
