The BOC...

Whether it be navigating life as a freelancer, to managing your finances or understanding legalities, this event will empower visual creatives with the knowledge to do and be better at handling their business in 2018.

Learn from an expert panel which includes Nadya Persaud of LUTI Media, Olivia Chalk of GREY London, Claire Shomade of Briffa Solicitors, and Freelance Designer/ Art Director Rudy Melo; plus special guests to be announced.

This will be a great opportunity to network with the creative industry figureheads and other fellow creatives in the wider industry. (Networking will commence in the first and last 30 minutes of the event)


Moderator: Jack Alexander - Photographer & Senior Writer @ Fstoppers.com

Jack is a 26-year-old London-based photographer, whose subjects include Liam Gallagher, Katy Perry, and Ed Sheeran. Jack is also a Senior Writer for photography site Fstoppers.com and a European Ambassador for Nikon.

Nadya Persaud - Executive Producer & Directors Rep @ LUTI Media

Nadya is the Executive Producer and Directors Rep at production house LUTI Media, representing all directors for UK music videos from their London office , including Daps, Marcus Lundin, Ray Fiasco, Sesan Ogunro, Trizz and Trudy Bellinger.

Olivia Chalk - Chief Production Officer @ GREY London

Olivia is Chief Production Officer at advertising agency GREY London, where she is responsible for every facet of production, including TV, print, film, digital, artworking, editing, music, talent, and casting. Chalk has over 20 years of experience, having worked for industry leaders such as BBH, Mother, and Channel 4.

Claire Shomade - Intellectual Property Solicitor @ Briffa

Claire is a Solicitor at Briffa, advising on all aspects of intellectual property protection and enforcement. She spent five years as an in-house solicitor at Universal Music Group working with filmmakers, photographers, designers, animators, recording artists, performers, and producers.

Rudy Melo - Designer & Art Director

Rudy is a freelance Designer and Art Director based in London. His portfolio includes clients such as Sonos, Adidas, Mini Cooper, and J2O. Prior to his freelance career, Rudy spent time at top creative agencies Iris, Mother, and HeyHuman.


ABOUT THE BOC:

With over 12 years creative industry experience between them, Oribi Davies, Rachel Holden, and Shanice Mears collectively recognised the need for a greater understanding of business among young creatives. The trio decided to join forces to make 2018 the year that creatives master business, with the launch of education and advice platform The Business of Creativity (BOC).
