“Should I Stay, Go, or Buy?”
"Is Dentistry Makingyou Sick?
By the end of the presentations the audience will:
• Be able to make a better decision about whether now is the time to get into the market.
• Understand the value of working with a good agent.
• Have clarity around preparing the practice for sale.
• Know what to look for when buying a practice and how to avoid expensive mistakes.
• Get set for the next decade of UK dentistry.
• Build a practice that is desirable to a purchaser.
Dentistry is tough. In addition to the necessary knowledge and skills that accompany any profession, dentists work with conscious patients in limited time frames. Add to the mix the increased demands of compliance and legislation and the pressure of running or being part of a small business. The resulting stress and its consequences are widespread and can affect all team members.
Knowing how to recognise, respond and subsequently avoid burnout is important for every dental team member. In this presentation Alun Rees, the Dental Business Coach, examines the causes and effects of burnout in the dental practice. Using his experiences of working with more than a hundred practices he asks and answers the question, “can you be successful without stress?” and suggests ways that the Dental Team can develop into “The Resilient Practice”.
At the end of the presentation you will have learned:
• The causes of burnout
• How to recognise the signs and symptoms of burnout - in
yourself and others.
• Dealing with the acute problem in dentist and team members.
• Building the resilient practice
