Event description

Description

On bank holiday, May 7, the Africa Club at London Business School will be hosting a teaser event in the lead up to its 17th Africa Business Summit (www.lbsabs.com) - "Scaling for Impact". We will be hosting two leaders in some of Africa's new economies - beauty and wedding planning - to discuss their journey and more importantly, the dynamics of the businesses they've built.

We will be hosting the CEO and Founder of Africa's largest indigenous cosmetics company, Tara Durotoye of House of Tara International, as well as the continent's leading wedding planner, Funke Bucknor-Obruthe of Zapphaire Events.

They will share thoughts on their distinct yet somewhat complementary businesses in Africa, while giving insights on the value chain and economic dynamics that are required to grow these busineses at scale. It is our expectation that insights from the discussion would enlighten and inspire the audience about alternative business ventures that could be explored in Africa outside traditional ones, while shedding light on how to launch a new venture in Africa, challenges you could face and how to balance family life with running a multimillion dollar business on the continent.

The speaking session in LT6 will be folllowed by networking in the Marquee.
