An exploration of the world of Foley, live special effects and the birth of special effects in cinema.
The Cabinet of Living Cinema, with special guests from a live Foley workshop conducted that day, perform a series of live scores using found Foley objects which celebrate 100 years of special effects in cinema. Masterpieces include work by George Melies, early pioneers of experimental cinema -Dziga Vertov and Man Ray - and father of stop-frame animation, Ladislav Starevich as well as the most contemporary experiments with computer-generated special effects by new filmakers.
