Join us for the headline event at The Candid Book Club Festival as we’re joined by award-winning author Safiya Sinclair. Her latest publication How to Say Babylon is a searing and unflinching memoir of a radicalised Rastafarian childhood in Jamaica, which recounts the reign of Safiya Sinclair's father and how she escaped and found her own voice as a woman and poet.

Safiya Sinclair was born and raised in Montego Bay, Jamaica. She is the author of Cannibal, winner of a Whiting Writers' Award, the American Academy of Arts and Letters' Metcalf Award in Literature, the OCM Bocas Prize for Caribbean Poetry, and the Prairie Schooner Book Prize in Poetry. Her work has appeared in The New Yorker, Granta, The Nation, Poetry and elsewhere.
