God, Science, and Faith: Richard Dawkins vs CS Lewis on the Meaning of Life

One of the world's most respected Christian theologians, Alister McGrath presents this year's Cathedral Lecture.

Working regularly with BBC One, BBC Radio 4, and national newspapers, Alister holds the Andreas Idreos Professorship in Science and Religion in the Faculty of Theology and Religion at the University of Oxford.

He is an Anglican priest and his many books include a new highly accliamed biography of CS Lewis, a series of market leading textbooks in Christian theology, and best-selling books engaging with the 'New Atheism'.

The annual Cathedral Lecture is a key part of the University Festival. The festival showcases the talents and achievements of staff and students throughout the academic year, and previous speakers include Baroness Julia Neuberger.

Time and venue: Refreshments outside The Chapel, Francis Close Hall, Cheltenham, GL50 4AZ, from 5pm. The lecture is from 6pm until 7pm in the Chapel.
