Description

The CBT'ers Club Business Club - Getting Started in Private Practice 1

Hello,

Thanks for your interest in The CBT'ers Club and our next event on Saturday 30th June 2018, 11.30am - 2pm. The event this time will be a Business Club meeting and the topic will be ‘Getting Started in Private Practice 1.

For more information about Business Clubs, please see the Member Services section of our website: www.cbtersclub.co.uk

ABOUT THE EVENT
Starting a private practice as a psychotherapist, counsellor or other mental health professional is no easy task. Trying to figure out where to start and what steps to take can seem absolutely overwhelming.

To help get you on your way, we’re are changing some of our Business Club meetings. While we will continue to provide general Business Clubs, we will now start providing specific topics to focus on during Business Club meetings. These could include advertising and marketing; getting clients and referrals; practical considerations when staring a private practice; finance and more.

What we hope to do is provide some ‘Getting Started in Private Practice’ Business Club meetings followed by some specific Business Clubs (e.g. advertising and marketing, setting goals, developing a client base etc.) over a course of time.

These are not workshops (we may provide some private practice workshops again in the future) an are not meant to be comprehensive groups that will provide step-by-step methods to start and develop a successful private practice – you need to do the hard work yourself! However, what Business Clubs provide is support from other therapists; a chance to share ideas and learn from others; networking and the chance to hook up with others in the same boat; test out ideas; learn more about private practice; gain knowledge about various topics e.g. advertising, getting clients, finances etc. and discuss private practice with others who are at different stages of setting up and maintaining their business.

Business Clubs will provide you with support and offer you a basic framework from which to start.

The CBT'ers Club Business Club is for psychotherapists, counsellors, coaches and other practitioners working in, or looking to work in, private practice.

Clubs are friendly, informal, welcoming and supportive. Business Clubs give you a great chance to meet new people (or meet up with those you have already met through The CBT'ers Club), get support, share concerns, worries or ideas and feel less isolated in your work (being a therapist can be lonely at times, can't it).

The next Business Club will be ‘Getting Starting in Private Practice 1’ and great for those thinking about private practice, are in the early stages of their business and even for those who have ore experience in private practice who would like to connect with others. New and regular Member welcome to attend.

The Agenda will include:

  • Is Private Practice for You? Are you Ready for Private Practice?

  • Initial Consideration: this might include - Business Plans, Business Structures, Self-Employment, Location, Costs and Practical Issues

  • Financial Considerations: this might include - Start-Up Costs, Funding, Contingencies, Setting Fees, Running Costs

  • Developing a Client Base: this might include - Identifying Your Niche, Advertising and Marketing, Websites

  • Regulations: this might include – Insurance, Professional Bodies, Memberships Data Protection, Legal Issues

These themes will provide a structure for this Business Club meeting although please bear I mind we might not cover all of this as some Members may wish to discuss some themes more than others at this specific meeting. Of course, we can revisit themes that were not covered or discussed at length during future Business Clubs. We will consider the themes in the order above though, so that you can consider your business development in a step-by-step basis.

Business Clubs constitute 2.5 hours of CPD and Certificates of Participation are awarded at the end of each gathering. Refreshments (tea, coffee, and biscuits) will also be provided. While, tea, coffee etc. is provided, please feel free to bring along a sandwich or something for lunch if you wish as there will be a 10-15 minute comfort break around half-way and there is a kitchen where you can eat lunch if you wish..

The meeting will start promptly at 11.30am. So please ensure you arrive at least 5 minutes early to ensure we can start on time. Thank you for your co-operation!

Spaces are limited, so please book soon to avoid disappointment. Once booked, NO REFUNDS will be given, even following cancellation. If you find you can no longer attend, please email us directly to let us know, as there is often a Waiting List in place for our events and gathering.

If you need any more information or have any questions, please do feel free to get in touch with us via email: info@cbtersclub.co.uk or via the website: www.cbtersclub.co.uk

Thanks for your time and we look forward to seeing some of you in June for our next event. We haven’t had a Business Club since last year, so we are looking forward to hosting this one. See you then!

Best wishes,
