Event description
Do you enjoy or fear the deep darkness of winter? Connect to the flow and movement of the seasons and to your creative self.

About this Event

The Celtic Wheel & Creativity classes aim to support the emergence and development of your creative self by encouraging you to flow with the movement of the seasons. The second festival of the Celtic year is Yule (The Winter Solstice) and falls on or about 21st December (in the Northern hemisphere). It marks the shortest day and longest night; the darkest part of the year. Yet, following the solstice, the light begins its ascent once more. Yule signifies the darkest time and also the rebirth of the year: a time of silent renewal.

In this class we work with the deep darkness of winter and the first glimpses of the coming lightness. We continue working with the darkness and the tending of inner brightness that we began at Samhain (sah-win) and look forward to Imbolg at the beginning of February as an indicator of the coming of spring.

The Celtic Wheel represents the constant flow and movement of life and is divided into eight solar festivals which are approximately six weeks apart, and 13 lunar months. The Celtic Wheel is a way to connect with the rhythms of seasons and, like many ancient systems of knowledge, seems to align with the psyche's path to self-realisation. I am particularly interested in how the Celtic Wheel aligns with the creative process. My classes explore the patterns, energies and qualities of the solar and lunar seasons through attention to the relationship between the natural, spiritual and cultural aspects of life.
