Event description

Description

February 2018 marks the 100 year anniversary of both the Representation of the People Act, and of women being given the right to vote. To celebrate this anniversary, Tessa Dunlop, historian, broadcaster and author of The Bletchley Girls will be with us in store to present her latest book: The Century Girls. A deeply personal account of six extraordinary women, aged 100 and above, who have lived through the last century of British history, witnessing extraordinary change; a deeply personal story of family, politics, identity, work and womanhood.

Join us for an incredibly special evening where Tessa will be joined by three centenarians whose stories feature in the book – 102 year old Olive Gordon, 100 year old Joyce Reynolds and 103 year old Ann Baer, plus friend, special guest and Bletchley Girl Pamela Rose who is also 100 years of age. These remarkable women will be sharing personal accounts of the last 100 years of British History.

A truly fantastic opportunity to hear from society’s oldest and most precious national treasures, and a history of Britain like no other.

This event is free, but please reserve your place.
