The Challenges of Inclusion in Adult Learning
Wed 18 October 2017, 09:30 – 16:30 BST
In this one day course, we look at how best to create effective engagement when teaching adults. You will come away with a heightened awareness of the issues around inclusion in adult learning and with new tools to recognise and address factors that affect their motivation.
We look at how to develop a participative learning environment, how to recognise and accommodate learning difficulties and promote social inclusion and equality, and how to communicate effectively and appropriately. We also use the work of the work of Knud Ulleris to look at the crucial differences in the ways that children and adults appropriate learning. And we explore ways to create a ‘learning tent’ – a welcoming, friendly and democratic environment where all learners feel welcomed and motivated to succeed.
