The Charity Governance Code

Good governance in charities is fundamental to their success. A charity is best placed to achieve its ambitions and aims if it has effective governance. Skilled and capable trustees will help a charity attract resources and put them to best use. Good governance enables and supports a charity’s compliance with relevant legislation and regulation.

This session is relevant to all Trust Boards and can be run as part of a scheduled Trust Board meeting subject to availability.

Course Aims:

• To provide a high-level overview of the UK voluntary sector and the role of the UK Charity Commission
• To give a detailed overview of the Charity Governance Code
• To provide an initial self-assessment of how well your charity is delivering against code
