Don't miss out on this grandesque event in such a beautiful setting.

It will be tables of 10, individual tickets may be purchased or whole tables (10 people).

Dress code is Black Tie or Mess Dress with miniatures.

Royal Navy personnel 2A or 2AW mess dress with negative headgear, other services equivalent.

See you there!

The Royal Navy has hosted Mess Dinners since before the times of Lord Admiral Nelson! They are a deep and rich part of the Royal Navys history and we kindly invite you to be a part of one, unless you have served in the Royal Navy or have family members serving it is very unlikely you will ever get the chance to attend one!

What is Jack Speak?

Jack Speak, otherwise known as naval slang, are words and phrases that originated from the Royal Navy and are used in the fleet and in everyday life, some you may even use yourself without even knowing such as "Scran", "Not enough room to swing a cat" and a term we will use at the mess dinner known as "Ease Springs".

Some of these words, phrases and traditions will be used at the Dinner, so I have made a handy guide and translator for those of you who speak the Kings English, in order for you to feel a part of the Dinner and make sure you don't miss out!

Ease Springs - This is a designated part of the evening where we have a toilet break, you can only have so much wine! This allows you to use the heads (Toilets) and not have to get up halfway through the Dinner should you need to, you know when a toilet break is coming!

Toast of the Day - Each day has a specific toast, this will be made by a serving member of the armed forces who attends! Picked at random!

The Loyal Toast - There will be a short speech followed by "Ladies and Gentlemen, the King!" it is Royal Navy tradition to remian seated for this as King William IV banged his head when making the toast on a warship, it is a proud naval tradition to this day, the audience responds "The King!" before taking a drink, other services are not required to sit nor is anyone else, if you would rather stand it is your preference.

For your ticket price of £125 you will be getting:

  • A full 3 course meal
  • Wine with Dinner
  • An official photograph in the Gardens
  • Free photography throughout the evening
  • A Charity Auction
  • Guest Speakers
  • A live band and DJ
  • Live entertainment including fire breathers, stilt walkers and mirror men
  • Photobooth
  • A few other surprises!

It will be an event to remember!

The RNRMC is a charity that supports serving Royal Navy and Royal Marine personnel as well as their families and veterans. They help throughout life and channel their funds to where need is identified at whatever stage. From elderly care, through mental health provision for children's charities, their outcomes demonstrate tangible differences at whichever stage in life that a safety net is needed. Focusing on our serving community they are putting our junior rates, other ranks and families at the top of their agenda. Their outcomes will be to show improvements to the lives of those in uniform and to their families. Then unfortunately when the worst happens and a loved one passes away while serving they provide immediate and unquestioned financial assistance at a time which is already stressful enough for a family.

Christie are the leading experts in cancer care, research and education, based in Manchester, looking and caring for thousands of patients making thousands of families feel supported and lifting that burden.

Christie are part of the Manchester Cancer Research Centre (MCRC) working with The University of Manchester and Cancer Research UK. They are also one of 7 partners in the Manchester Academic Health Science Research Centre. Christie are ranked as the most technologically advanced cancer centre in the world outside North America, and have been named, by the National Institute for Health Research, as one of the best hospitals providing opportunities for patients to take part in clinical research studies.

At The Christie, they aim to deliver healthcare services that are accessible and inclusive to everyone, in an environment characterised by dignity and mutual respect. Equality, diversity and inclusion for our staff means placing great value on the rich diversity and creative potential that people with different backgrounds and abilities bring. The Christie “Carbon and Energy Fund Project” is a refresh of the way in which the Trust produces enough power to run the site. The project will significantly reduce the Trust’s future energy costs and CO2 emissions and will act as the first stage of its journey to reduce the carbon footprint of The Christie in line with Manchester City Council’s commitment for Manchester to be carbon neutral by 2038.

There will be pre-drinks at a designated local hotel before the event begins, this includes a coach transfer, return ticket only, to and from the hotel if you wish to purchase you can add it on at the checkout for just £12.50!

Updates and links will follow.
