The Children's Learning Disability Service: Listening Event

The Learning Disability and Autism Health Equalities (Commissioning) Team are reviewing the Children's Learning Disability Service - a service available to children and young people aged 5-18 who have a diagnosed moderate to severe learning disability and behaviours that challenge, who live in Southend, Essex or Thurrock. This health-based service is due for renewal in 2028 and to help with decisions about the new contract, the Team would like to hear from you.

This Listening Event is an invitation to share your direct experiences of using the service (successes and challenges) or your attempts to use the service. The event is being held over 3 sessions on Monday 6th October (10am-11.30am, 12.30-2pm and 4-5.30pm). Please ensure you book onto the slot that works best for you, and book tickets for the total number of people in your party. Children and young people with experience of (or need for) use of the service are also welcome to attend. Regretfully on this occasion, babies and young children of attendees cannot be accommodated at this event.

Light refreshments will be provided so please advise us of any dietary requirements when booking. There is also a cafe available on site.

Please note that there is limited car parking available on site. We recommend you park in the Town Centre which is approximately a 10 minute walk. There is also a local train station and a bus stop immediately outside the Civic Centre if you prefer to use public transport.
