The CIL Youth programme is a modular programme designed to give students - at key stage 3 and 4 level - a basic foundation in far al-‘ayn knowledge, knowledge that is essential for every Muslim to learn. This unique one year programme will cover book 2 from the iSyllabus for Schools series. The iSyllabus book 2 is a fully-structured Islamic Studies course for 10 to 16 year olds.

Featuring 36 interactive lessons, this book provides a detailed introduction to the basics of Islam. Additional material will also be covered throughout the year.

The course is based on a traditional understanding of Sunni doctrine and the Hanafi school of law, and is taught by traditionally trained and authorised teachers. Upon completing the programme, students will have acquired a good foundational knowledge in the core disciplines as well as an exposure to formal Islamic studies.

So what is unique about this course?

1. Shaykh Tanveer , Shaykh Shams, Imam Haseeb, Ustadha Faseha Jabhar, and others (trained by Shaykh Shams & Shaykh Tanveer) will deliver the course over 36 weeks, teaching 2 hours each week.

2. 36 different lessons will be taught, covering an array of different, exciting topics related to Islam, Imaan, Ihsan, and living Islam.

3. Each class will be interactive and delivered by British born, tradionally trainded Imams; so as to maximise understanding.

4. The students will have lots of opportunities to ask the questions relevant to them.

Is CIL Youth for my child?

We succesfully ran our first-ever Cil Youth programme with over 100 children between the ages of 11-16, Alhamdulillah. The programme was thoroughly enjoyed by both; the children and the teachers.

This programme will allow the children-at this vulnerable and delicate period of their lives- to not only have access to fundamental knowledge, but more importantly to mentors who shall serve as role models and guides in this sensitive period of their lives. Safeguarding one’s faith and identity as a Muslim is of upmost importance; and it is hoped that this programme will facilitate this for our next generation.

Who should attend?

This programme is tailored for Muslim boys and girls between the ages of 10-16.

How are the classes taught?

We run 2 classes simultaneously; one for 10-12 year old boys and girls, and the other for 13-16 year olds. The classes are taught at the New Bucks University main campus. The older children are taught in the beautiful Gateway Lecture Theatre, whilst the younger group classes are delivered in the Drama studio next door.

What's the Format of the lessons?

The lesson are 2 hours long with a 10 min break in between. All lesson are taught from the book and have accompanying powerpoint slides which are used to display via the overhead projectors.

Which teachers will be teaching?

The last CIL Youth Course was exclusively taught by Shaykh Shams and Shaykh Tanveer. However, this years team is bigger and diverse, and we have decided to use other teachers trained by Shaykh Shams & Shaykh Tanveer, to assist in the delivery of the course.

A unique aspect of this course is that it hopes to deal with certain contemporary issues facing Muslims living within the UK; such as, identity, gender and being Muslim at school. It is hoped that this course will give our children a much needed framework of what it means to be a Muslim living in 21st Century Britain.
