About this Event

Edit 16th March 2020: In light of recent recommendations around coronavirus we have decided to run this workshop online and postpone to Thursday 23rd April 6-8pm. Those who have bought tickets before 16th March 2020 and can no longer attend will have the option of being reimbursed.

Is your organisation thinking about declaring a climate emergency, but unsure where to start? Or is this a conversation you want to encourage in your workplace?

Join Business Declares, ActionAble and On Purpose on Thursday 19th March from 6-8pm for a workshop about the climate emergency and practical steps to taking action. We're excited to partner with Business Declares, who are leading a coalition of business leaders to take action on the climate emergency. They have supported On Purpose in declaring a climate emergency as well as organisations such as Ecotricity, COOK, and Tribe Impact Capital, and are led by a board of directors which includes John Elkington, of Volans, and Kate Sandle, of B Lab.

The workshop will cover

  • Why the climate emergency is important and how we communicate its importance to others.
  • How an organisation declares a climate emergency, including

- Case studies from organisations that have done it

- A presentation from Ben Tolhurst about his work as a climate champion at JLL.

- A step-by-step guide on how to declare

  • How organisations can take meaningful action
  • Opportunities to connect with other people and organisations, and to ask your questions of Business Declares and the room

Tickets are £5, and support the work of Business Declares.

6pm: Doors open

6:30pm: Presentations, workshop and discussions
