This Solo Exhibition celebrates renowned York Artist Linda Wormald & her latest collection of vibrant Seascapes & Landscapes amongst the picturesque surroundings of her Studio Gallery near the University of York. Linda Wormald is a self taught Contemporary Artist based in the United Kingdom. Born in Manchester, she has been painting professionally since 1971 & specialises in Landscapes & Seascapes inspired by Scotland & North Yorkshire. “The Scottish Coastlines & the Yorkshire Countryside convey an abundance of energy that I love transferring onto the canvas. We moved to York when I was aged six, & I remember being literally enthralled by the vibrant colours in Yorkshire’s fields. I knew at that early age I was going to be a painter” says Linda, now aged 76 & who paints in her Studio surrounded by trees & wildlife. Linda’s bountiful use of colour & texture elicit the primitive aspects of the panorama & are achieved using Oils & Acrylics on Canvas. Recognition for Linda’s work excelled when she was invited to showcase a solo exhibition for King Charles & exhibit for The National Trust. Since then her work has been admired by Collectors internationally for their invigoration & a distinct tangibility that puts the viewer straight into the composition. Linda has had successful solo exhibitions with the National Trust & at the prestigious Chelsea Old Town Hall, together with a variety of galleries located in Leeds, Scotland, Bedale & the South of France. She has regularly featured in the Yorkshire Life Magazine & her latest collection of works focus on perspectives prolifically enhanced by rural shapes.
