Some on the DMV's best comics are products of our nation's best Historically Black Colleges and Universities! Join us for a night of funny while we honor our time one "The Yard".

Ralph Cooper - Morehouse College: Ralph, a comedian, journalist and tv producer, lost his comedy virginity in 2005 and decided to get serious in 2009 because his wife said they needed rent money. Since then Cooper has has filled rooms with laughter throughout North America with his clever style and quick wit. Ralph co-founded and hosted “Awesome Thursdays”, a weekly open-mic which was named one of best comedy venues by CBS News and featured in the Washington Post. Most recently his family was featured in Ebony Magazine naming them ‘Coolest Black Family in America’ and he was the host of Kevin Hart’s series ’Hart of the City’ on Comedy Central.

Paris Sashay- Virginia Union University : Paris Sashay is comedian, actor, and producer from Washington, DC. Audiences across the country fall in love with her infectious laugh, wit, and style. Her command as a seasoned storyteller makes even the mundane feel like an adventure. Paris has featured for Dick Gregory, Domonique, Sampson McCormick, and Michael Che offering her piercing insight on issues of the day. Performances at the Howard Theatre, Comedy Store and Caroline’s on Broadway highlight her rise to stardom.

Jason Weems - Morgan State University: A native of Baltimore City, Jason Weems is striving to become a comedic great. Jason has been seen at the most prestigious “By Invitation Only” comedy festival in the world, the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal and recently added a featured semi-finalist credit to his name on the hit NBC Series Last Comic Standing. In December 2010, he filmed his first hour comedy special entitled Jason Weems, Vol. 1: Intellectual Property in his hometown of Baltimore, Maryland that is being released independently. Keep your eyes open for him performing in your city, because it’s just a matter of time before his “Good Ass Jokes” are worldwide.

Kasaun Wilson -Howard University : While earning his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting from the historic Howard University (THE MECCA) in Washington, DC, Kasaun Wilson started an acting and stand-up comedy career that is still garnering him national attention today. He won DC Improv’s Funniest College Student competition representing Howard University, has opened up for some of this country’s greatest acts including Grammy Award Winner, Tye Tribbett, Greg Proops, Gary Owen and featured for Donnell Rawlings.

Kerene Tayloe - Fisk University: Kerene brings her vivacious personality to the DC comedy community. Having performed at the DC Improv, the DC Drafthouse and the Bier Baron, she is becoming a welcomed fresh face. She has opened for Tony Woods. She also co-produces shows as part of Melting Pot Comedy.
