This course is designed to address the SRA competence training needs for anyone practicing in the fields of company and commercial law.
As well as providing an update on some of the latest statute and case law developments in the area, you will also look at applying critical thinking and analysis to solve problems, drafting documents which are legally effective, negotiating solutions to clients’ issues and establishing and maintaining effective professional relations with clients.
Among the legal topics to be covered will be
* transfer and transmission of shares in a private company
* email and forming contracts, varying contracts and giving notice
* “heads of terms” – when are they legally binding?
* drafting with Brexit in mind
Speaker: Keith Lewington spent 25 years as a partner in the company and commercial department of a major national law firm. He has now moved on to join an innovative new firm, Excello Law, where he specialises in advising SME and family companies. Keith is a keen advocate of a sensible, pragmatic approach to providing legal services that clients want.

Please note that this seminar will be held in the Ranmore Suite on the Ground Floor at Denbies Wine Estate, Dorking. Registration is from 1.30pm with tea and coffee. The session will commence at 2.00pm and finish at 5.15pm with a 15 minute break at about 3.30pm for tea.
