About this event

  • 3 hours

The Confident Manager training programme transforms apprehensive, uncertain, hesitant managers into skilled, effective, assured managers and leaders.

Confident Managers build and lead great teams at all levels. Teams that enjoy their work, feel valued, fulfilled and appreciated.

A recent report found that no less than 50% of workers experiencing poor management are planning to resign in the next year, massively undermining a critical factor facing all businesses – staff retention.

It also reports that over 80% of managers have had no training in how to manage effectively.

The Confident Manager is specifically designed to deliver the training, the techniques and the confidence that all managers should have.

Frequently asked questions

What’s this course all about?

The Confident Manager training programme transforms hesitant, apprehensive, uncertain managers into skilled, effective, assured managers and leaders. Whether a delegate is new to the world of management, or would benefit from a skills refresh, this engaging, interactive, hands-on course is ideal

What is the benefit to my business?

A recent report found that 50% of workers with a poor manager are planning to resign in the next year, massively undermining a critical factor facing all businesses – staff retention. Confident Managers build great teams. Staff who feel well managed are far less likely to seek work elsewhere!

How much does it cost?

£375 per delegate which covers all three sessions. Payment must be received in full to secure a place on the course. There is no VAT as Alan Mead Coach Trainer is not VAT registered.

Who is Alan Mead Coach Trainer?

I am an award winning Trainer and certified Coach and have been delivering training and coaching since 2012. I live in Bideford and work out of Node Cowork's excellent, fully accessible facility in Barnstaple. I have designed this course specifically to support North Devon's business community.

Why Barnstaple?

Too many people I have spoken to about training like this are frustrated about having to travel to Exeter or beyond to benefit from it. North Devon has a thriving business community and this is my opportunity to show my support for my home for over 30 years!

Why three sessions like this?

Learning in three short, sharp sessions will maximise retention of the learnings from the training then still allow delegates get back to work afterwards, minimising disruption. Delegates can apply what they learned during the session then share their experiences at the next session.

What will each session cover?

Session 1 - Communication - Boosting understanding within teams to enhance collaboration Session 2 - People Skills - Leading, guiding, and empowering individuals Session 3 - Managing ourselves - leading by example, managing time, resliiemce and change

Can I cherry pick from the sessions?

No! Each session feeds into the next one and by joining the training, delegates commit to attending all three sessions to maximise the benefit of the training. There will be no partial refund should a delegate miss a session.

What if I have to cancel ahead of the course?

Any cancellation received more than 4 weeks before the first day of the course will receive a 75% refund. Any cancellation more than 2 weeks before the first day of the course will receive a 50% refund. Any cancellation 2 weeks or less before first day of the course will not receive a refund.

Will the course run again?

The course starting on 1 May is the first time the course will have run. I plan to run further courses as long as the interest is there, and the course is positively received – I am very confident that it will be.

What experience do you bring to this training?

I have spent over 30 years working in advertising, most of that at North Devon based Agency Bray Leino. I have been a manager, department head, director and board director, finishing my time their as Head of Learning. I can supply numerous testimonials about the impact and success of my training.

I believe we are all capable of so much more. Wherever we want to thrive and really achieve our dreams and ambitions. At work and at home.

Training helps managers become the confident, supportive manager and leader that unites and leads teams regardless of the level they work at.

Coaching helps you to get closer to those answers and achieve things you might previously have not thought possible. It helps you to unlock your potential.

“Alan is a hugely compassionate man, who approaches each coaching session with kindness and a genuine desire to help both the individual and the organisation. His work with our team has had a huge impact on their happiness.

“We don’t measure the effectiveness of Alan’s work on productivity, because we genuinely want our team to just be the happiest and best versions of themselves that they can be. We know this isn’t everyone’s bag, and some people need/want a more tangible result.

“But frankly, whatever your goal is, Alan’s your man.”
