Earlier this year, TCV planted a hedgerow along the residential edge of Ham Common Woods, off Church Road. We will be working to maintain the hedgerow through weeding, scrub clearance and ground aeration. We will be planting and infilling a hedgerow along the residential edge of Ham Common Woods, off Church Road. The site is mananged for biodiversity by the London Borough of Richmond-upon-Thames.
The species planted include hawthorn, blackthorn, spindle, elder, & hazel.
Hedgerows are valuable habitats as they provide a dense and varied scrub for animals to nest and feed within. Hedgerows also provide a long, continuous, green corridor to aid the movement of species across greenspaces.
We meet at the corner of Church Road and Garthside at 10am. Look for the TCV van.
