Learn how to use heaver weight fabrics and hardware, and make your very own backpack, messenger bag, or satchel.
There's nothing quite like a good sturdy bag that lasts you for years: the smell of heavy canvas or leather; the industrial feel of the clips and fastenings; and the joy of finding lost trinkets in the pockets.
The Cooper Bag is a versatile pattern, giving you three different options from one basic design: a backpack, a messenger bag, or a satchel (doubles as a bike pannier). And in this two day weekend workshop, Susie Haigh will be guiding you through the steps to make your very own Cooper in one of these styles.
She'll be introducing you to the Industrial Sewing Machine, talking through the use of heavier weight fabrics, and showing you how to use various hardwares such as magnetic closures, lobster clips, rivets, D-rings, magnetic snaps, buckles, webbing, and velcro.
