Join RIBA Bristol & Bath for an exclusive after-hours tour of The Creamery at Castle Cary, led by the project’s architects, followed by a unique cheese-making talk, grazing boards and drinks.
The former century-old creamery, adjacent to Castle Cary railway station, has been given a new lease of life by Stonewood Design as an active cheese-making facility, shop and café/restaurant. This special event offers RIBA members a unique insight into this celebrated local landmark.

- Time: 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
- Location: The Creamery, Station Wharf, Station Rd, Castle Cary BA7 7PE
- Tickets: £15.00 per person (RIBA-subsidised cost). Your ticket includes two complimentary drinks and shared grazing boards.
- RSVP Deadline: Final numbers and dietary requirements to be confirmed by Friday 16 January 2026.
Below is an outline of the event and what to expect.
Architectural Tour with Stonewood Design
The tour will be led by Adam Chambers, Director of Stonewood Design, who will guide guests through the project’s key features and explain how the team approached the brief. Learn how Stonewood Design stripped back years of extensions to restore the original industrial character of the 1912 brick building, and how the architecture now showcases the dairy manufacturing processes.
Artisanal Cheese Talk & Social
Following the tour, guests will move into the restaurant for a talk from Margaritha, who will explain the cheese-making process and the products made on-site.
Itinerary
- 4:00 PM – Guests arrive, are welcomed into the restaurant and offered a complimentary welcome drink (cider or sparkling apple juice).
- 4:15 PM – Architectural tour begins with Stonewood Design (Adam Chambers & team).
- 5:00 PM – Cheese-making talk by Margaritha. Grazing boards are served and the second drink is made available (wine, cider, lager, juice, water).
- 5:15 PM – Networking and socialising. The bar will be open for guests to purchase additional drinks.
- 6:00 PM – Departure.
