The Cricketer Live - An Evening with David Gower
Thu 4 May 2017, 18:30 – 20:30 BST
Please join The Cricketer for an evening with David Gower to hear his reminiscences of an illustrious and decorated career and answer your questions about his life in cricket and what the future holds for the game. Gower is widely regarded as one of the most stylish English batsman ever to pick up a bat and one who, in a professional era, played the game with a grace and finesse that harked back to the amateur traditions of Peter May and Colin Cowdrey.
David will be sharing his memories and experience and answering your questions. The evening will be chaired by our editor, Simon Hughes, the esteemed analyst from Channel 5’s cricket coverage, who will bring his own inimitable knowledge and insight to the evening.
The Cricketer is delighted to invite you to join us in London on 4th May for what promises to be an insightful and thoroughly entertaining evening, where you will:
Hear David’s thoughts on his career, his proudest achievements and delve into some of the juicier episodes – that Tiger Moth incident comes to mind!
Listen to his reflections on his long career in the studio – as commentator and anchor – first with BBC and then Sky, and share his opinions on the future of cricket on our TV screens
Ask him your own questions…Did he find scoring over 8000 Test runs as easy as he made it look? Was his career brought to an end prematurely? What are the most challenging aspects of the England captaincy and how does he think Joe Root will fare?
Please do join us for what should be a wonderful evening - but please note tickets are strictly limited - so book now to avoid disappointment.
The doors will open at 6pm and the event will begin at 7pm and finish at 8.30pm. The bar will be open before and after the debate - come early and have a drink or stay late and continue the debate with our panellists.
Submit your question to David:
When registering you will have the chance to submit a question to David Gower. The question adjudged the best on the night will be presented with a beautiful Italian leather wallet by The Game.
