Description

The Event:
Ahead of a World Cup and Ashes summer, The Cricketer invites you to join us for a live event in the company of Nasser Hussain at the County Ground in Chelmsford, on Monday 20 May. Nasser captained England 45 times across his 96 Tests, presiding over one the most important periods in the history of English cricket. He also spent his whole county career at Essex, scoring over 19,000 runs and 38 centuries for the club. Today, he is a well-respected journalist and part of Sky Sports’ acclaimed punditry team.

Join The Cricketer on 20 May where you will have the opportunity to hear Nasser reflect on his career, discuss his thoughts on the current state of our game, the summer ahead, and answer your questions about his life in cricket. We will be asking lots of questions on the night, some answers we’ll be looking to extract from Nasser will be:
• Can England win the World Cup? Will they carry on with their aggressive approach as they have been or look to play situations more after the odd hiccup?
• A look ahead to the Ashes – will the Dukes ball and the English seamers be the difference in the series? Should Steve Smith and David Warner be picked?
• Will England find a solution to their Test batting woes? Which players will be knocking down the door when August arrives?
• Recollections of the England and Essex teams of the 1990s – talented sides which saw success and failure in equal measure.
• His personal successes – an Ashes double-hundred, the comeback innings against India in ’96, runs against Murali while captaining in the subcontinent, and beating the West Indies.
• His post-playing career – touring the cricketing world as a pundit for Sky Sports, publishing his award-winning autobiography Playing with Fire, and writing as a columnist for the Daily Mail.

Please do join us for what should be a wonderful evening – but please note tickets are strictly limited – so book now to avoid disappointment.
