A free in-conversation event exploring the remarkable story behind RCP physician Sir Thomas Browne. The evening will celebrate the opening of the RCP's exhibition, ‘A cabinet of rarities’: the curious collections of Sir Thomas Browne.

Programme:

Expert contributors
Professor Claire Preston is professor of Renaissance literature at Queen Mary University of London. She has published several books and articles on Thomas Browne and on various topics in early modern science, and is the general editor of The Complete Works of Sir Thomas Browne (forthcoming, Oxford University Press).

Dr Gavin Francis lives and practises medicine in Edinburgh. He is the author of books on the Arctic and Antarctic, and most recently of Adventures in Human Being, a 'cultural map of the body' drawing on his own experiences as a physician, which was a Sunday Times bestseller and the Saltire Non-Fiction Book of the Year 2015.
