About this course:
- To understand what the Cycle of Change is
- To recognise a person’s readiness for change
- To understand the challenges at each stage of the cycle
- To build confidence in how to talk with your client at each stage of the cycle
- To be knowledgeable about local support agencies and referral routes
This course raises awareness of the Cycle of Change, also known as the Stages of Change model, which was developed by James Prochaska and Carlo DiClemente. It outlines the process people typically go through when making a significant change in behaviour. Throughout the session we will discuss the model helping you to understand that change is a process, with different support required at each stage, and that relapses is a natural part of it.
