The Dam Busters

This landmark British War film, shot at Elstree Film Studios, tells the extraordinary story of the legendary 617 Squadron during their daring raid on the Ruhr Dams during the Second World War in thrilling scenes which later inspired the Death Star run in the first Star Wars film.

To honour 80 years since the film's release, this screening will take place in a truly fitting venue, an authentic World War II aircraft hangar, bringing audiences closer to the spirit of the story and the history it represents.

As part of Elstree Studios' centenary celebrations, this event is both a tribute to the bravery of the real life air crew and a celebration of Elstree's enduring contribution to British cinema.
