Event Details

Following the success and sell out performances of The Dance Academy events earlier this year we are holding a one off event in aid of Help a Guernsey Child.

We aim to enable fans and supporters of our students and the arts in the island who may have missed the earlier event a second chance to see the fantastic work of our students. We are taking donations via Eventbrite and on the door with 100% going to Help a Guernsey Child.

Help a Guernsey Child was established on 12th January 2001 by Island FM to raise funds for deserving children in the Bailiwick of Guernsey.

The charity actively seeks to assist disadvantaged local children, young people and youth organisations, and can also meet some specific individual needs. To find out more please visit their website: http://www.helpaguernseychild.org.gg/

The Dance Academy

Guernsey’s Academy of Dance and Theatre Arts has been established in the island for 19 years. Led by Rhianna King since 2012, we offer I.S.T.D. Ballet, Tap, Modern & Classical Greek Dance Classes, Contemporary dance, and Drama and Musical Theatre. Lessons and rehearsals take place our purpose-built studio in Hougue du Pommier, Vale, and currently we have 200 dance pupils aged between 2 1/2 and 18 years.

Our aim is to provide a nurturing environment in which dance classes can help to form a part of a child’s all round education.  Pupils come to the Academy to train their bodies and minds in their chosen subject, to be inspired and also to have fun.  Working towards examination success is important, but we also believe that it is important for our dance students to build upon their own personal skills and confidence as individuals. Dance lessons may be a hobby, or it may lead to a career, but every child is treated the same and has equal attention given to them.
