About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour 30 minutes

The recently enacted Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 has already changed UK data protection law and, as more provisions are commenced, will further change the requirements to comply with the UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018, Data Protection Act 1998 and Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003.

Don't get left behind and allow your competitors to get a head start on taking advantage of legislative changes, or risk non-compliance, a loss of consumer trust, or potential regulatory or legal action.

During this webinar, you will learn:

  • how the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 has already changed the rules on complying with data subject access requests and what that means for your handling procedures;
  • why you will need to implement new redress procedures for data subjects, which may also require you to update your data processing agreements;
  • how you may be able to reduce the administrative burdens associated with restricted international data transfers;
  • why you may no longer need to conduct a legitimate interests assessment (LIA);
  • how relaxed restrictions on automated processing of personal data and the further processing of personal data could boost your AI ambitions;
  • why you will need to update your privacy notices;
  • how you can work with your industry partners to define what data protection good practice requires and reduce regulatory uncertainty;
  • about changes to the Information Commissioner’s Office and its enforcement powers;
  • about the increased risks posed by your marketing activities;
  • how you may be able to simplify your cookie consent mechanisms; and,
  • further changes to UK data protection law that could be implemented.
