About this event

The Bowmen of Walker invite you the David Harrison Memorial Shoot on 14 August 2022: WA1440 & Metric I,II,III and IV.

To be held in memory of a great archer, a great coach and a great friend to all who knew him. People like Dave are hard to find, difficult to say goodbye to and impossible to forget.

In his memory let 's have some fun and SHOOT!

All proceeds will be donated to Dave's favourite charities: St Oswald's Hospice and the NUFC Supporters Foodbank.

Sunday 14th August 2022

Archers are free to shoot which ever round they choose. However, the following categories are given as guidance:

Rounds: Ladies and Gentlemen WA 1440

Ladies and Gentlemen over 50 yrs (Masters)

Junior Gentlemen under 18 METRIC I

Junior Gentlemen under 16, Junior Ladies under 18 METRIC II

Junior Gentlemen under 14, Junior Ladies under 16 METRIC III

Junior Gentlemen under 12, Junior Ladies under 14 METRIC IV

Prizes will be awarded to archers shooting in the appropriate category.


Registration from 08:30am

Assembly 09:00am, followed by up to 45 minutes of practice.

Shooting starts: 9:45am

Gentlemen, Ladies 70/60m and appropriate Junior Metric two longer distances will be shot in ends of 6 arrows on 122cm faces. The two shorter distances will be shot in 3 arrow ends on 80cm faces.


The closing date for entries is Saturday 6th August at 12:00 noon.

The entry fee for the day is £10 for all age groups.

The Shoot is open to any archer currently affiliated to AGB (or equivalent).

Juniors under 16 years of age must be accompanied by a parent/guardian/named adult whilst on the premises. The Organisers should not be asked to act as supervisors.


Archery GB dress regulations will apply.

Lost Arrows

Lost arrows must be reported to the T.O. or a member of the field party (please remember to inform them if you later find the arrow). It is the archer’s responsibility to account for all arrows before leaving the field.

Special Notes:

Archers who are unable to get to the target should arrange for an assistant to aid in scoring and arrow collection.


In line with the Archery GB Safeguarding Children, Young People and Vulnerable Adults Policy, those who wish to take photographs or video at this event must register with the Tournament Secretary on arrival. Unauthorised photography is not permitted.

Venue Information

Benfield Centre for Sporting Excellence is a no-smoking site.

Pets are not permitted at Benfield Centre for Sporting Excellence (Guide Dogs excepted).

Car parks are available at the front and side of the site, but parking directly next to the archery field will be limited.
