Session 3 in the Industry Takeover Seminar series investigates the landscape - DIY or sign with a label?
About this event
INDUSTRY TAKEOVER SEMINARS ARE BACK AT THE TALENT HOUSE - UD'S BRAND NEW HQ
Uniting tomorrow's underground talent and today's most influential Black music culture leaders under one roof .
For many artists, traditionally the record deal was the big deal. But with the shift to streams, artists now release their own recordings long before a record label gets on board.
In this seminar, we will explore:
- So what is it that labels do that can still make a record deal attractive?
- What other options are now available to artists?
- And how has that impacted on the artist/label relationship?
Followed by a Q&A after the discussion.
In partnership with CMU:DIY
Chaired by Chris Cooke (co-Founder and MD of CMU)
