Event description
We're back and kicking off the new year in style. This month, we're looking at social media and mental health.

About this Event

Let’s admit it, we’re all addicted to social media, especially Instagram. And if there is one thing that can’t be ignored, it’s the negative impact social media platforms have on our mental health. With depression and anxiety rising by 70 per cent in the last 25 years, it’s clear that social media has had a crucial part to play.

While there are facts backing up claims that social media has had an extremely negative impact on young people's mental health, we want to know, can we use social media as a positive platform to tackle mental health issues?

Speakers include:

Abi Turner - The UK’s ambassador for Sad Girls Club, an online and in real life platform dedicated to bringing together girls who battle mental health issues

and

Danny Bowman - Head of campaigns at Parliament Street and spokesperson for MaleVoiceED

Presented and moderated by Grace Campbell.

Expect cool vibes, even cooler people, music and free Screen Shot merch.

Free beer with every ticket.
