Description

Do you …

  • want to make your selling events less stressful and more financially rewarding? Are you taking part in a design or craft trade show in September or a Christmas show in the Autumn? Maybe you are still new to these type of events, or maybe you have done the for a while but not satisfied with what you are getting out of it?

  • feel overwhelmed with what's involved with a selling show? So much to think about! How to get organised. What you will show and how. How to price and insure your work. How to get the word out.

Events can be a great way to launch a new collection, to raise your profile, to meet new potential clients ... but they are expensive and hard work!

And you do need to get organised!

For the very first time I am sharing my 20 year+ expertise in a practical planning + marketing workshop for any creative exhibitors at design and craft shows. I have worked over the years with many of the top trade shows and craft fairs, and have helped 100s of new and established exhibitors to make the most of these selling opportunities but now for the first time this is available to exhibitors any where.

On Friday 12 May from 9.30am - 4pm (UK time) I will be hosting this one-day online workshop on MAKING THE MOST OF EVENTS.

During this practical & interactive day I will help you to:

  • How to identify which shows are best for you (and you might be surprised by what you'll learn!), how to select and apply for the best craft and design events, or organise your own event.

  • Prepare and plan for your event to maximise sales and exposure, and minimise your stress levels.

  • Promote yourself with practical, real-life marketing, social media and press advice that you can use for your own craft, creative product or design business immediately - and within your budget! Making you feel professional and not 'too sale-sy'. I will teach you which marketing activities work to get sales and give you a confidence boost, rather than feel deflated.

  • Show your work at its best, for YOUR ideal clients - on your display, on your promotional material, on social media.

  • Turn interest into sales - how to attract the right (trade & consumer) clients for your products, price your work appropriately, and get sales after the show - with tips on how to follow up without making a nuisance of yourself.

This is an online workshop

This workshop is online, and you can join us from anywhere in the UK or overseas! You join us from your own computer or laptop, from the comfort of your own home or studio.

So, wherever you are, you can access our practical, real life, expert training. All you need is a computer and access to the internet. And you don't need to be highly technically advanced at all, as we will give you very clear instructions on how to register for the sessions, and we give you access to our user-friendly online platform before the workshop, so you can make yourself comfortable before the day starts.

The best things about our online workshops are:

  • You can join us from your own home or studio space. So no worries about travelling or parking somewhere. You can have the best food and cuppa tea in the world, and the cleanest toilet too (!). You can even join us in your pyjamas if you like ...

  • It keeps the costs down, so we can provide you with expert advice at an affordable price!

  • You get to 'meet' other creatives from across the UK, and very often international creatives too! Broaden your circle, and connect with them after the workshop on our online platform.

  • All the sessions will be recorded, and you will have 6 months access. So if you are not able to join us for the day, or have to miss a session, that's not a problem at all. Or if you want to watch a part again and again, then you can. And also, in a couple of months you can go through the workshop again if you like.

On Friday 12 May I will host 4 mini-workshops:

  1. How to choose the best shows for you & apply successfully: We will start the day with how to find out about the best shows for you (not necessarily the ones you think!) and then how to select them and my top tips to apply successfully. I will also share with you the top tips from some of the main craft and design show organisers too, so you get a real insight into what they are looking for. Or maybe organising your own event might be even better at this stage?

  2. The 4 stages to plan your next event stress-free: In this session I will show you exactly what to do before, during and after your event. You will create your own one-page events' plan covering EVERYTHING you need to think about - from what you will sell and how to present your work best; to how to price your work and attract the right clients; to what to say to your visitors and what to do if it's quiet; to what to do after the show (often the most important part!).

  3. Marketing, social media & press for events: In this session you will get loads of practical marketing & social media ideas to attract visitors before & during your event. Not just marketing to raise your profile but what to do to get sales. I will share with you my launch plan template, social media calendar template, email & newsletter topic ideas, press release examples and tips, and visual price list template.

  4. How to turn interest into sales? Getting visitors and interest is step one, but it sometimes takes a while before people will buy from you! Especially if your products or services are more expensive or one-off purchases, or if you want to sell to trade buyers. Events are a great way to build your profile, credibility and trust, but you do need to follow up and build longer term relationships. In this last workshop Patricia will share with you loads of ideas of how you can do that successfully, without harassing your clients or become 'too salesy'.

At the end of the day there will be a 45min Q&A call with Patricia to answer any questions you might have.

You will get homework between these session to put your learning immediately into practice and to start using your know knowledge in your own situation or business!

All 4 sessions will be recorded and put onto our private online learning platform, where you can network with the other participants too.

You can watch the recordings again and again (the workshop recordings + presentations will be available for you for 6 months, which is till the end of November so very useful to prepare for any of the Autumn trade shows or craft fair Xmas shows!). You can also ask questions here after the event, and Patricia will answer them on the private forum.

If you are unable to join us for the entire day then you can catch up with the recordings, and ask questions via our private forum.

The Design Trust 'MAKING THE MOST OF CRAFT & DESIGN EVENTS' Online Workshop is £79 and you will get:

    • 4 mini workshops on Friday 12 May + access to the recordings + presentations - till the end of November 2017

    • Ask me any questions on the day in the Q&A session or post them in the 30 days after the live session on our private online training forum and I will answer them there

    • You will get various templates & checklists, including: a marketing launch plan, social media calendar, press release and visual price list. Check list for what to bring to a fair.

    • PLUS: Bonus webinar with visual merchandiser Suzanne Tanner on how to present your work on brand at trade shows and for online selling. Interview recording (on Skype so audiovisual) with Ian Rudge, who founded 100% Design and TENT London, and now the Show Director at Clarion Events, who host shows such as Top Drawer, Pulse, Home London, who talks in this exclusive 30min interview how to apply for a trade show and make the most of it.
